Rancho Cucamonga, CA, July 9th, 2015 – The IMA®  Inland Empire Chapter is proud to announce our July Technical Meeting. This month’s meeting will take place on Thursday July 16th, 2015.

This month we welcome Randy Powell, Author and Leadership Coach. Randy will discuss “The 2 – Pillars of Exceptional Leadership

Randy Powell began his professional career in 1973 with the Air National Guard, in 1985 he became one of the first full-time Occupational Safety & Health Technicians hired by The National Guard Bureau. He managed the California Air National Guard’s Safety and Explosive Safety Programs until 1990. He then left that position to work for Northrop Aerospace where was assigned to the Advanced Programs Division-Special Projects (another way to address ‘secret’ programs). While at Northrop, Randy oversaw the Occupational Safety and Explosives Safety Programs for work that was being conducted within the Advanced Programs Division. Once those programs reached their capacity Randy went on to work for Fleetwood Enterprises, Inc., a Fortune 500 company and the nation’s largest recreational vehicle manufacturer. For the next nine years Randy Powell lead the RV industry in safety management and leadership and also paved the way for Fleetwood to expand their business while reducing their losses, creating a new era and standard for the RV industry! He eventually went on manage the safety and security programs for Miller Brewing Company a small NASDAQ company and a few even smaller firms.

He was born in Boston, Massachusetts but relocated and grew up in a small community in Southern New Jersey. He and his two brothers, raised by Alva Eloise Brown, an upright, strong, educated lady. Mom received a lot of help from her mother; let’s call her Granny, because it was tough for a single parent raising three boys in the 1960’s. She was doing a fantastic job with Kenny the oldest, Randy and then George who was the youngest. But, on one tough summer day in 1969, shortly after Randy graduated from intermediate school, his world changed! Randy was forced to become the ‘Man’ of the house because his oldest brother passed away unexpectedly from a brain hemorrhage. It’s easy to understand why he became concerned about the safety of others. Since that time Randy’s been keeping a watchful eye out for the safety of everyone around him. He has the perfect background to sooth your concerns about workplace safety and he knows the type of leadership it takes to produce organizational excellence!

Randy travels lives in Southern California and with his wife Susan and their small dog, Winston. He and Susan volunteer much of their free time to mentoring young adults and aspiring speakers, they also support non-profits and local community causes. He and Susan love to cruise and visit tropical locations whenever they have the opportunity.

Exceptional leadership brings out the best in people and without fail it helps to produce unimaginable results! This program offers insight into leadership from a relational perspective. It provides a new road map for current leaders and is a great place for new leaders when they receive the call lead. Leadership is a lifelong learning opportunity as well as a daily grind filled with triumphs and setbacks. This program will get you ready to lead and succeed at building others from the ground up!
